LOVE YOUR CITY
The Real Need: Finding unmet needs in the city.
Love Your City (LYC) is an event designed to bring a large number of volunteers together and make a real impact in our local communities.
LYC is our way of showing genuine love to our neighbors and peers by meeting them where they are and attending to their needs. Some examples of needs we have met through LYC include passing out food and hygiene kits to the homeless, visiting young people at the juvenile detention center, beautifying the local public school landscape, and cleaning the playroom of a homeless shelter.
Volunteers gather together and are sent out in groups into the local community to participate in various projects to meet various needs. LYC currently happens on the 3rd Saturday of every month in Washington DC and 2 times a year nationally in various cities.
