Programs Overview

All of Hope’s programs are developed from a need in the community.

Instead of focusing on just one problem, our organization takes a different and more entrepreneurial approach to service. The programs we create are needs-based, not expertise-based. We immerse ourselves in each targeted area by connecting with those living, working, and helping there, reviewing recent research and data specific to the area, identifying the greatest needs to each unique community, then create programs to meet those needs. That is why what we do is very much dependent on where we do it. In South Arlington,  our programs such as Mentor and Read Aloud tend to have a scholastic root, focusing on the growing number of academically at-risk students falling behind their peers in the public school system. Conversely, much of the work we do in Washington DC addresses more basic needs such as access to healthcare through our mobile health clinics and access to healthy food through our Healthy Start program.
